Andreas and Ola had to retire their Ford Focus WRC 06 from Wales Rally GB after rolling the car on SS9.

As they came over the crest of a hill on the Halfway 1 stage, Andreas hit a hay bale with his right front wheel find a rock concealed behind the bale which sent the car rolling several times.

The damage is beyond repair so the finaly WRC rally of 2007 is over early for Mikkelsen and Fløene.

Andreas said, "It was a fast right hand corner with a hay bale at the entrance and I didn't see there was a huge stone behind it.

The wheel clipped the rock and the whole car flicked into the air and rolled four or five times before we landed on the tyres."

"The roof is damaged and the front wheel was ripped off.

 It was quite scary but everything happened so quickly that I didn't really get time to understand what was happening, we were just suddenly in the air! 

It's a big disappointment to retire because we had a really good pace today.

It was a bit of sudden bad luck but that's the way rallying goes sometimes.  You have to learn from it and move on."
