HunterA baker’s dozen of former and current world rally cars from Subaru, Ford and Hyundai have entered the fray for the first major national forest rally in the Forest of Dean on Saturday February 9th.

All are entered in the new  BTRDA class and spectators get to see most of them bunched together at the back of the field on the Get Connected Carless Fuels Wyedean Rally which starts from Chepstow racecourse at 8am In time honoured fashion last year’s winner Hugh Hunter will lead the big guns away where seven Fords take on four Imprezas and a brace of Hyundai machines.

However, the event favourite is farmer Andy Burton with the legendary Peugeot Cosworth. He is going for his fifth victory on the event and is not contesting the BTRDA series.

Among the 140 crews there is again a healthy contingent in the 1400cc class who will be among the first cars to tackle the well known Dean stages. A newcomer in this class in a Suzuki Ignis is the vastly experienced Graham Middleton who has won three BTRDA titles.

Full details of the spectator stages and times are on the Forest of Dean MC website www. wyedean rally co.uk
