It has been announced today that Ulsterman, Martin McCormack from Draperstown, Northern Ireland will run at number seven in the Roger Albert Clark Rally which starts in Leeds this weekend.
Twenty-two year old McCormack who was recently announced as winner of the sixth annual Fisher Foundation Young Driver Safety Award has shaken the rally establishment with his success in 2007 and must be one of the favourites to take the winners laurels in Carlisle next week.
In April McCormack won the Pirelli Historic Rally having never seen Kielder before and set a scorching pace throughout the event despite a worrying moment on the fourth stage causing steering damage due to a lack of brakes.
Success also rewarded McCormack in the forests on the recent Trackrod Historic Cup event which he dominated on his debut outing in Yorkshire. So, a man to watch out for surely!
