Sunday 28th October saw the running of the ever popular Rallitrak Premier/Historic Rally based around the Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire. The event attracted quality entries in both the modern & historic classes which featured six stages on a compact route.
The 1st stage in the modern event set the scene for the rest of the day as the top 4 seeds Hugh Hunte/Andy Marchbank (Ford Focus WRC 01), Pete Egerton/Paul Spooner (Hyundai Accent WRC), Donovan Jenkin/Ian Bass (Subaru Impreza WRC) & Karl & Guy Simmons (Subaru Impreza) all filling the top 4 times.
SS2 was the only time Hunter/Marchbank didn’t top the time sheets all day with Egerton/Spooner taking the honours.
The pair were dominant in the top two positions separated by 31 seconds finishing as they started with Jenkins/Bass eventually finishing as seeded in third 1minute 59 seconds adrift. 3 seconds back was the hard charging Martin Healer/Shaun O’Gorman’s Ford Escort WRC in 4th with Karl & Guy Simmons rounding out the top 5 a further 2 seconds adrift.
