The Ecurie Royal oak run Adrian Barker Memorial Trophy Stages saw 66 crews on Sunday morning at Desborough airfield in Wilbarston.
The broken tarmac and dry weather combined to provide the crews with a tough challenge, one that a number of the competing cars failed to cope with.
Early leader Ashley Fields in his Darrian T90 hit problems late in the morning adding his name to the list of retirements along side Robert Dick also in a Darrian and Stuart Deely in the Lotus Europa.
This passed the lead to Dave Willett in his 2.3 Duratec Escort battling with Ian Savage in the Mitsubushi.
At the end of the day the top three were as follows:
1 Dave Willett & John Davies Escort MkII 2.3
2 Ian Savage & Gary Heslop Evo 6
3 Ben Burt & Ian Hamer Escort MkII
