County Durham rally driver Chris Anderson heads back north to Ingliston near Edinburgh for the second time this season hoping to end his recent run of bad luck on next weekend's Mercury Motorsport Stages Rally (July 25/26th).

The 17-year-old maintenance engineer from Butterknowle near Bishop Auckland has encountered problems on the last two events but following on from his debut at the Royal Highland Showground over Easter, whereby he came away with a top twenty placing overall and best improvement on seeding, he is confident of another good run.

Anderson will once again team up with experienced co-driver Chris Thirling in their MSR Motorsport-prepared and Wilkinson Maintenance Ltd, John Cullerton & Sons and Bell's Truck Sales-sponsored ex Guy Wilks Ford Puma S1600 for the two-day Dunfermline Car Club event, which also comprises a round of the Scottish Tarmac Rally Championship.

Speaking prior to the event, Chris said: "Hopefully, bad luck doesn't come in threes! After our late problems at Weeton and last time out on Otterburn, I really do want to have a good clean run and for the first time in my rallying career, I'm going back to somewhere which I've competed at before so at least I am a little bit familiar with the surface and layout. The car has been fully fettled and it's now just a case of me getting down to business and seeing what sort of a result we can get. We're getting more and more experience and the speed is also starting to come so I'm looking at an improvement on where we finished at Ingliston last time, although the competition looks a lot tougher."

The action gets underway at 09.00 on Saturday followed by around 75 stage miles over 14 stages throughout the weekend. Please be advised that there is strictly no spectator access but additional marshals are still required so anyone interested should contact the organisers.
