Alick Kerr wins John Easson Scholarship |

Alick Kerr the 19 year old Glaswegian is this year?s winner of the John Easson scholarship, beating national competition to win the prestigious award from the 2300 club.
The scholarship run by the 2300 club which is now in its fourth year offers a prise fund of ?7000, which includes a free entry to this years event, help towards the fuel and tyre costs and a 4 day trip to the John Haugland Rally School in Norway next winter for expert advice and tuition.
Alick the Peugeot 205 Ecosse champion will get chance to try his hand on the notorious closed road event on the Isle on Mull in October, although probably not in the car that has brought him this years championship. A Fiesta ST has been hired for the remainder of the season while next year?s car a Citroen C2-R2 is built. Alick will be co-driven by Tom Hynd of Inverbervie.
Alick started his motorsport career in karting aged just 8 years old. Then in 2003 he moved towards rallying, progressing onto autotests, auto cross and the Ford Rallye Academy. In 2005 he began his competitive rally career with various rallies on gravel and tarmac in his Peugeot 205. In 2006 and 2007 he has continued his career in the Ecosse 205 Challenge and the Scottish Rally Championship gaining various class and championship round wins.
