Colin McRae's former Subaru Legacy that took him to British Rally Championship victory in 1992 is to go under the hammer in February.

H&H Classic Auctions are to offer the car with a guide price of  £70000 – 100000 although this is expected to fetch more than this guide. The auction will be held at The Centaur, Cheltenham Racecourse on the 28th February 2008.

The Legacy RS registered J314 PWL is the car that Colin drove to win the 1992 British Championship, his second before moving on the world stage. McRae set the pace through the whole year winning every event in the 1992 Championship.

Colin who went on to become the world rally champion in 1995 died in September last year in a helicopter crash near his home in Lanarkshire.

Also in the auction are a pair of works Mini’s, a 1964 Morris Mini Cooper S, 'CRX 90B' driven by Paddy Hopkirk and Don Morley is expected to fetch £40,000-50,000.

The second Mini a 1967 Morris Mini Cooper S, 'OBL 45F' also piloted by Hopkirk is estimated to sell for £30,000-40,000.
