Three extremely worthwhile charities have benefited from £36,000 officially raised by The End to End charity cycle.

When Stobart VK M-Sport Ford rally team members Matthew Wilson and Scott Martin decided to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats they never expected to raise such an amazing figure along the way.

Fortunately for the Richard Burns Foundation (RBF), Great North Air Ambulance Service and the Cumbria Community Foundation they did, and today both Wilson and Martin were able show their support through a donation ceremony at their WRC team’s base at M-Sport in Cockermouth, England.

In total RBF received an incredible £14,400 with Alex Burns - father to the late world champion Richard Burns whose legacy is the driving force behind the motorsport charitable foundation - happily receiving the cheque on behalf of the charity. 

Also receiving a cheque for the sum of £14,400 was Jan Hawkins of the Great North Air Ambulance Service, who was delighted to meet the guys who had ridden over 100 miles a day to generate the generous donation.

Andy Beeforth, Director of the Cumbria Community Foundation was also on-hand to receive a cheque for £7,200 in recognition of the foundation’s efforts in organising donations generated through the End to End cycle.

The fantastic total raised was testament to the determination and efforts of Wilson, Martin, Stobart team trainer Barry Johnson and General Manager of Scott Sports UK Ian Hughes, who all cycled the distance in nine days while raising funds and awareness for the three great charitable causes.
