Omagh Motor Club’s opening event for this year was the Spring Rally held on Saturday 20th February. This clubman event is a very popular rally based in Fivemiletown Co. Fermanagh, the event format consistent of 8 special stages held in nearby Mullaghfad, Crocknagrally, Jenkin Hill and Doon forests.

Conditions for this year’s event proved very challenging due to freezing fog, snow and ice on many of the stages.
 The principal sponsor of this year’s event was Aidan Caldwell Plant & Tractors Sales and saw seventy three entries both 2 & 4WD and a few WRC cars.

This year’s event was won by Ian Cochrane and Nigel Campbell in a Mitsubishi Evo, second was Frank Kelly and Sean Ferris Ford in a Escort Mk 2 and third was Paul Britton and Martin McGarrity in a Subaru Impreza.

A total of 73 starts and 47 finishers has proven that this years event has been a tough one.
