Regulations for the Cumbria-based 2008 Pendragon Stages Rally on Sunday 24 August are now available online at the new website: www.pendragonstages.co.uk.
The event organisers, Kirkby Lonsdale Motor Club, Eden Valley Motor Club and Northallerton AC, are doing their bit for the environment this year with regs only being available via the web.
The rally is headed by a new sponsor livery this year in the form of Stobart Rail following the rebranding of WA Developments but the format of the rally will stay the same with 65 competitive asphalt miles on offer across stages in Warcop and Lowther Park with space for 105 cars.
The popular ramp will once again be held in Penrith town centre following its debut success last year. Cars will visit the ramp for a 'chat' with the commentator en route to stages in the morning and finish there in the afternoon, with the public and rally fans being able to get close to the competitors and their machinery.
Clerk of the Course, Tim Foster, said: “We are grateful to have the backing of Stobart Rail once again and are thankful to Andrew Tinkler and William Stobart for that. We are also pleased to be running the rally through Warcop thanks to the MoD and in Lowther Park thanks to Robert Benson and the Lowther Trust. We would also like to thank Eden District Council for their cooperation with the ramp in Penrith.
“The event offers a great day’s rallying with some excellent asphalt stages. It always fills up fast and is usually oversubscribed so we urge competitors to get their entries in ASAP to avoid disappointment and we look forward to welcoming everyone along to the event in August.”
The Pendragon Stages is a round of several regional championships including the ANWCC, ANCC, ANECCC, North of England, SD34, the Borders Stage Rally and the Scottish Tarmac Stage Championship and also welcomes the Northern Historic Rally Championship this year.
Marshals are required for the event, particularly in the Lowther Park stages, anyone interested should contact chief marshal Martin Dentice on:
