Welshmen Richard Davies and Gareth Wilcox made a round trip of 400 miles last weekend to pick up the top awards at the AWMMC Heart of England backed stage rally series.

They won their class five times in 2007 using their reliable 1400cc Escort Mk II and were second on the other outing in a series in whcih they finished runners-up in 2006.

Both live in Haverfordwest. Davies (23) works in the family garage while Wilcox , who is two years older, is an IT expert. They have been together for six years.

Their 2008 programme has yet to be finalised but they will provide tough opposition whatever event(s) they decide to contest.
